Call for 1 research grant to conduct research activities at Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste facilities in the frame of the “‘InCIMa4” project. Call A12/2020

Scadenza: 07/01/2021 Ore: 23:59

Riferimento Bando: A12/2020

This call is aimed at awarding 1 research grant with a duration of 12 months, pursuant to art. 22 of Italian Law no. 240 of 30 December 2010 and acknowledging the regulation for research grants to conduct research activities at Area Science Park, passed with Board decision no. 3, of 30 January 2020. The reseach grant is addressed to conduct research activities in the frame of the ‘InCIMa4’ project (see attached information sheet) focussing on optimization of smart functional materials characterization techniques through spectroscopy, FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy) microscopy and nanoscopy, UV-resonant Raman (UVRR) spectroscopy and microscopy, x-ray tomography, for both basic and applied research purposes in collaboration with industrial partners.

The research grant holder, under the supervision of the scientific supervisor at Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, will be involved in particular in the following research activities:

  • Optimization of X-ray tomographic acquisition techniques of foams, porous and composite materials in absorption and phase contrast modes;
  • Developmentofefficientprotocolsfortheanalysisofporousmaterials’andfoams’microstructures;
  • Optimization of the infrared tomographic technique;
  • Development of innovative protocols for the correlation of sample morpho-chemistry with its physical and mechanical properties through integrated analysis of X-ray and infrared images.

Research activities will be carried out on Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste premises at the SYRMEP beam line, Strada Statale 14, km 163.5, Area Science Park, Basovizza – 34149 Trieste (Italy).

Some of the research activities to be carried out in the frame of the project will be conducted on the premises of InCIMa4 scientific partners (Fachhochschule Salzburg and Paris Lodron Universität Salzburg).
